The Commentary on the Treatise on Rebirth interprets this verse in two ways: First, this verse establishes the name "Upajesa." Second, this verse establishes the three higher gates (worship, praise, and making vows) and gives rise to the two lower gates (observation and dedication). In other words, Bodhisattva Tianjin clarifies, based on this verse, that the Treatise on Rebirth can establish the name "Upajesa." Furthermore, this verse enables the fulfillment of the three gates of worship, praise, and making vows, and gives rise to the two gates of observation and dedication. If this verse did not exist, the three higher gates could not be established, nor could the two lower gates arise. Thus, it can be seen that this verse penetrates the Five Gates of Mindfulness and the entire treatise, much like how muscles and nerves in a human body are connected to enable movement, and how a gate rotates around an axis to open and close. In this regard, the "Explanation of the Three Reliances" in the *Commentary on the Treatise*—regarding "What One Relies on," "Why One Relies on," and "How One Relies on"—holds profound theoretical significance.
