¿Por qué sufrimos tanto un partido?

Why can a soccer match leave us physically and emotionally exhausted? When our team plays, the brain is constantly anticipating what it thinks will happen. If the match doesn't unfold as expected, what neuroscience calls a "prediction error" occurs. From that moment on, adrenaline and cortisol are activated, triggering a veritable emotional rollercoaster: we go from joy to anguish, from hope to fear, and from euphoria to uncertainty in a matter of seconds. Our brain doesn't fully distinguish between a sporting threat and a real threat. That's why symptoms like tachycardia, muscle tension, rapid breathing, and even a feeling of exhaustion appear when the match ends. A simple tool to regain calm is conscious breathing: inhale through your nose for 4 seconds and exhale slowly for 6 seconds. This exercise helps reduce the activation of the nervous system. 👉 We discussed this topic with @rodolfobarili on @telefenoticias. 💬 How did you experience the national team's last match? Did you also end up exhausted?
