Reviving a 100-Year-Old Singer Sewing Machine! | S1E7 | The Repair Shop Australia
➤ Subscribe ➤ http://bit.ly/RepairShopYT In this episode of The Repair Shop, the team of experts return three treasured heirlooms back to their former glory and rejuvenate the priceless links between loved ones past and present. Kellie arrives first with a Toy truck, that survived the 2007 Newcastle floods. Kellie's late husband Pete bought this toy truck for their son Jai growing up, and now Kellie wishes to get it restored and pass it onto her grandson Jagger after years of ill health. Wood restorer Britta is moved by the emotional story and enlists Dean to help her build the roof component of the truck while she restores the timber back to good health. Because the timber had been soaked in water due to the flood, it's become dry and brittle which makes it hard to take apart. She has a painstaking job ahead of her! Next to arrive at The Repair Shop is Leanne and her two daughters, Michelle and Gemma, bringing along their much-loved 1950's Occupied Japan Bird Cage Clock. The birdcage clock is a reminder of her mother who passed away two years ago; but for decades it has layers of grime and dust since Leanne broke the dancing bird when she was young. Horologist Andrew endeavors to restore the mechanism so the bird can dance again in a shiny and new home. Metalworker master Majella is always ready to put some elbow grease into restoring prized family heirlooms, and the next is no different. Tina and daughter Harriet arrive with an item that has built a shared passion within the family line; a century old Singer Sewing Machine that's travelled from the UK. They are hoping Majella can stitch the four generations of their family history back together and restored the broken crank that snapped on its travels to Australia.
