Shady Nasser: The Transmission of the Qur'an, Variant Readings, and Qur'anic Grammar

In this video I interview Professor Shady Nasser of Harvard University. Prof. Nasser teaches Arabic literature and Islamic Civilizations at Harvard. Previously he was as a University Lecturer in Classical Arabic studies at the University of Cambridge. Professor Nasser obtained his PhD from Harvard University in 2011. He is the author many important books and articles in Qur'anic Studies including, "The Transmission of the Variant Readings of the Qur'an" and "The Second Canonization of the Qur'an (324/936) Ibn Mujhid and the Founding of the Seven Readings" both published by BRILL. In this video we discuss the transmission of the Qur'an, the 7 Qira'at, and Qur'anic variants more generally.
