A Faithful Woman—Giving Back to the Lord (6/28/26)

Listen to Minister Leroy Wright of Sherwee Drive Church of Christ as he inspires us to give our all back to the Lord. Hannah is a powerful example of a woman of faith and teaches what true faith looks like in the midst of hardship. Although people often focus on great men in the Old Testament, Scripture, also, gives us remarkable women like Esther, Sarah, Rebekah, Rahab, and Hannah, whose faith greatly impacted God’s people. Hannah, the mother of Samuel, remained faithful despite deep pain, including infertility and constant ridicule from Peninnah. Faithfulness does not exempt us from problems. Even faithful believers face trials, opposition, and spiritual attacks, which is why we must continually put on the armor of God. Hannah refused to let her suffering, mistreatment, or circumstances become excuses to stop serving God. Instead, she continued to worship, give, and trust the Lord. A woman of faith is a woman of prayer. Hannah understood she could not overcome her struggles without bringing them to God. She prayed earnestly, vowed that if God gave her a son, she would dedicate him back to the Lord, and then chose to trust God completely. Her sadness lifted because she believed God had heard her. God hears prayers offered within His will and remembers those who remain faithful. God blessed Hannah with Samuel, showing that while He may not always give us everything we want, He will always provide what we need and honor faithful trust. Finally, Hannah demonstrated faith by keeping her promise to God. She fulfilled her vow by dedicating Samuel to the Lord and did so willingly, not grudgingly. Her response to God’s blessing was worship and praise. True faith perseveres through adversity, trusts in prayer, keeps commitments to God, and dedicates every blessing back to Him.
