Anastasia Dobromyslova won three BDO Women's World Championships, ended Trina Gulliver's seven-year unbeaten reign, beat men on live television, and became the first non-British women's world darts champion. She is 41, she has never retired, and she has no injuries. She just can't compete. In March 2022, the WDF banned all Russian and Belarusian players from sanctioned events following the invasion of Ukraine. That ban was reviewed and upheld in 2024. Her WDF ranking now reads NR — no ranking at all. The Lakeside stage she once owned is closed to her, and the only route left open is the PDC Women's Series, which she enters as a neutral competitor with zero ranking points.
