Festa do Colete Encarnado'26 - Homenagem ao Campino

Today, in Afonso de Albuquerque Square, the most solemn moment of the Festa Maior takes place – the Tribute to the Campino with the presentation of the Pampilho de Honra. Francisco Manuel Guerreiro Honrado is the campino chosen by his peers for this tribute, and Joaquim Carlos dos Santos is the name inscribed on the Pampilho, in a posthumous tribute. In the Colete Encarnado 2026, Vila Franca de Xira honors not just one campino, but an entire life linked to the Ribatejo identity, to collective memory, and to a cultural heritage that continues to live on in the Ribatejo floodplains.
