The Traffic Alert and Collision Avoidance System (TCAS) is one of the most important systems to ensure flight safety. It is mandatory for commercial aircraft. The system identifies aircraft in the surrounding airspace through replies from their air traffic control transponders. In this video, I explain the system logic, and the interaction with the flight crew.
