Historia de las TRADUCCIONES de la BIBLIA (2/2) | BITE
PART ONE → http://bit.ly/2PlPLsl In 1521, Martin Luther, persecuted by the Pope and the Emperor and hiding in Wartburg Castle, published his translation of the New Testament in 1522. The entire Bible translated by Luther was published in 1534. In 1524, the first Dutch translation was published. In 1549, the Czech Bible appeared. In 1563, a Polish translation was published. In 1543, Francisco de Enzinas published his Spanish translation of the New Testament. In 1569, the first complete translation of the Bible into Spanish appeared, known as the Bear Bible, translated by Casiodoro de Reina. In 1526, William Tyndale's English translation was published. The execution prevented Tyndale from completing his translation, but the task was completed by Myles Coverdale, who published it as the Matthew Bible, the first complete translation of the Bible into English. In the following years, the Great Bible of 1538, the Bishop's Bible of 1568, and finally the King James Version of 1611 continued to be published. In 1560, the Geneva Bible was published, a French version that would be used by figures such as Shakespeare, John Bunyan, John Calvin, Theodore Beza, and the Mayflower pilgrims. In 1578, the first complete translation of the Bible into Slovenian was completed. By then, the Bible had been translated by various Protestant scholars into eleven additional languages. After the Reformation, the Bible was translated into more languages in less than a century than it had been in over 1,000 years.
