Changing the way we do things.

My half yearly bill has landed, from Severn Trent Water. It's not a large amount. It comes in the post, I immediately take it to the Post Office, they scan the bar code, and I pay over the counter with cash. Easy, I have been doing it this way for years. This new bill does not have a bar code, so it looks like they are doing away with this method of paying. Utility companies are pushing for all their bills to be paid electronically. I don't want to give my bank details or card details to anybody. So now I have to think about what to do next. Will they cut me off if I don't pay. Severn Trent deal with the removal of waste water from my property. The supplier of fresh water to my taps is from Anglian Water. They bill me half yearly for that. Maybe I'll wait for their bill.
