The Pickup Truck Market is About to Collapse! Here's Why...

The pickup truck market is about to collapse... and it's becoming quite clear. The truck market will fail first, before cars and SUVs. Of the 2.5M vehicles that were repossessed in 2025, over 1M were trucks! That's especially wild considering trucks account for about 20% of all the vehicles on the road. Across the country, we have about 3.1M brand new vehicles sitting on dealership lots right now. Of the 3.1M, over 800,000 are new trucks! Those trucks are sitting longer, much longer. Flooring costs for these sitting trucks is beginning to bleed out dealers. Dealers are starting to struggle bad! Trucks are the most repo'd vehicle because dealers will often force incentivized interest rates and sizable discounts on them ...and sell to people with challenged credit scores. Dealerships do this so they can maintain records like Ford does with the F150, having the best selling truck within the segment. Toyota does it with the Tacoma, and Tundra now. GMC and Chevy will offer consistent incentives to sell Silverados and Sierras, 1500s, 2500s, and 3500s. People often buy trucks because they have the vision of using them for work, the truck will be a tool to make them money, but they rarely do enough to justify the huge truck payment they incurred. With the average new truck price being over $64K, and monthly payments being over $1000, people can no longer keep up. People are giving up on new trucks. People are choosing to keep ahold of their current trucks longer than 3-5 years. New truck sales are plummeting across the country, and people are losing their current trucks to the repo man. Even midsize pickup trucks are averaging over $54K now, which is insane! All new trucks are overcomplicated now, stuffed with tech and creature comforts, and come with lesser engines that are turbocharged or hybridized. And if the auto manufacturer kept a V8 option, they're likely to blow up too. It feels like a lose lose situation. So many new pickup trucks today cost over $100K which is sickening to say out loud. That's our new norm, our new sad reality. Cracks are forming in the truck market foundation, something has got to give soon. The truck market will collapse, it's just a matter of when. What are your thoughts on the pickup truck market? How soon until we see a notable crash and huge discounts? At what type of discount would you actually consider buying a new truck today? Midsize, full-size, heavy duty, diesel, etc...? Thanks for watching as always, I sincerely appreciate your support.
