Любимые растения в апреле, обзор сортов, сочетание в цветниках. Мой опыт выращивания и уход в саду.
Late April marks one of the most vibrant moments of spring awakening in the garden. At this time, the garden's beauty is enhanced by both the mass flowering of bulbous plants and the first flowering shrubs and trees. Forsythia: One of the main symbols of April. The shrub is completely covered in bright yellow flowers even before the leaves appear. Magnolia: Late April marks the peak of flowering for early varieties. Large, cup-shaped or star-shaped flowers look stunning against the bare branches. Sakura and ornamental cherry trees: Depending on the region, it's at the end of April that the garden is filled with a soft pink "cloud" of flowering fruit and ornamental trees. Daurian rhododendron: It begins to bloom with delicate lilac-pink flowers, adding vibrant color to shady spots. I can only dream of many plants, but they can already be seen in our city. The beauty of their blooms attracts much attention and delights local residents. Bulbous plants add a special charm to this period. Late April is the time when classic spring flowers dominate: Tulips and Daffodils: Early and mid-season varieties enter a phase of mass bloom, creating dense splashes of color in flowerbeds. Muscari and Hyacinths: These plants provide rich blue, purple, and pink hues, while hyacinths fill the garden with a powerful fragrance. Fritillaria Imperialis (Fritillaria): A tall plant with spectacular orange or yellow "bells" that often becomes the focal point of a spring flowerbed. Decoration during this period is enhanced not only by flowers: Sedges and ornamental grasses: They begin to grow, adding structure and fresh greenery to mixed borders. Primroses: They create low, flowering mats of varying shades along paths. Bright spireas are currently striking with the beauty of their foliage. In April, Japanese spireas (Spiraea japonica) are just beginning to awaken, so their decorative appeal at this time is not due to their flowers, but to their spectacular young foliage. Here's what happens to spireas at the end of April: Bud awakening: Japanese spirea blooms in summer (June-July), so you won't see flowers in April. However, the shrub is one of the first to become covered in dense foliage. Bright young shoots: The main feature of popular varieties is the color of their budding leaves. For example: 'Goldflame' and 'Goldmound': At the end of April, their tips glow bright orange, copper-red, or golden-yellow. Against the still-gray ground, they look like bright "bonfires." 'Crispa': It unfurls its characteristic serrated leaves, which take on a reddish tint in April. Pruning: April is the ideal time to shape the bush. Since Japanese spirea blooms on the current year's shoots, it should be pruned short (leaving 10-15 cm from the ground) at this time. This stimulates the growth of those vibrant young shoots and ensures lush summer blooms. In April, Japanese spirea isn't about flowers, but rather about "designer" spots of bright foliage that enliven the flowerbed while other plants are still just emerging. In April, groundcover plants become the main "saviors" of the garden landscape: they cover bare ground and create the first bright carpets of color. Here are the top favorites of late April: 1. Flowering "carpets" Phlox subulata: Perhaps the most popular groundcover. By the end of April, it turns into a dense cushion, strewn with small flowers (white, pink, crimson, or blue). The greenery beneath the flowers is almost invisible. Aubrieta (Aubretia): Creates spectacular hanging cascades on retaining walls or rocks. Blooms profusely in shades of purple and lilac. Arabis (Cressed Arabis): Forms lush white or pink clumps. Has a pleasant honey aroma that attracts the first bumblebees on sunny April days. 2. Shade-tolerant and stable Vinca minor: An evergreen plant that emerges from the snow with leaves already on, and in late April, unfurls its famous blue or soft-blue "stars." Ajuga creeping (Ajuga): In April, it is decorative primarily for its foliage (chocolate, purple, or variegated). By the end of the month, blue candle-like inflorescences begin to emerge. Berginia: Although this is a larger plant, it is often used as a groundcover for large areas. In April, it blooms with powerful pink inflorescences, and its overwintered leaves acquire a beautiful crimson hue. In April, barberries are the main "splashes of color" in the garden. As with spireas, their main decorative appeal at this time lies not in the flowers, but in the phenomenal color of their young foliage. 1. Explosion of Color (Foliage) When most trees are just putting out pale green leaves, barberries are already showcasing their palette: Purple varieties ('Atropurpurea Nana', 'Bagatelle'): They bloom a deep cherry or almost black. Yellow varieties ('Maria', 'Aurea', 'Golden Rocket'): In April, they look like lemon-yellow glowing balls. Orange varieties ('Orange Rocket', 'Admiration'): Young growths are neon orange or coral with a thin golden edge.
