Mt Chephren Summit Scramble (Sunset)

Completed my crazy goal of scrambling up Mt Chephren so I could bivy near the summit. Using my 75L backpack I hauled up a 2lb sleeping bag, bivy sack, sleeping pad, around 5L of fluids, food, all my clothes which was a lot, camera & other miscellaneous gear up the mountain. Takes a while to get to the mountain before the 1700m of elevation begins, and with a regular pack it's a difficult scramble but with the bulk and weight this time it was beyond difficult. Smoke was thick but it was still a pleasure to not only make it to the summit for a second time, but to enjoy sunset & sunrise on the mountain. At around 10pm I built a wind shelter and set up my bivy for the night between Chephren & White Pyramid which was safe from rockfall but a bit windy. With all my layers I kept warm & had a decent sleep. Headed down around 530am through the cliff bands with some help from the ropes & made it back to the parking lot around 130 in the afternoon.
