中国国境地帯で31時間拘束後、脱出した先で“葉っぱで叩かれる”旧ソ連サウナ天国【カザフスタン・アルマトイ】

After escaping from China, I arrived in Almaty, Kazakhstan, where I encountered an "Old Soviet sauna" where people slap their bodies with leaves. Last time, at the border area of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in China, I experienced a state where I could not move freely for 31 hours, handing over my passport, smartphone, PC, camera, SSD, SD card, and other items. After that, I departed from Yining (Irin) Airport to Almaty, the largest city in Kazakhstan. Until the airplane doors closed and the plane started moving, I couldn't be completely sure if I was really leaving China. This video records my stay in Almaty immediately after passing through the Chinese border area. The first place I went to was the Zelyony Bazaar, where you can see the lives of the local people. While tasting the meat section, dried fruits, and the staple Central Asian dish plov, I started to feel an atmosphere completely different from China. Then, the place I was most looking forward to in Almaty was Arasan Wellness & SPA. It is a massive bathhouse facility that retains the atmosphere of the former Soviet era. At the entrance, many bundles of birch, oak, and other branches called "venik" were lined up. Inside the sauna, local people were slapping their bodies with those leaves, occasionally slapping each other's backs. The heat from the firewood, humidity control, sauna temperatures around 70–80 degrees Celsius, a huge cold bath at 18 degrees Celsius, and a dome-shaped palace-like bath space. I have entered saunas in over 50 countries, but the Almaty sauna was a place that left quite an impression. This is not just a tourist guide for Almaty or a sauna introduction. This is a five-day record of walking through Almaty, a former Soviet city, while still holding onto the tense feelings I had at the Xinjiang Uygur border area, recording its atmosphere and culture firsthand. *This video records what I actually experienced on site, as factually as possible.
