Bamboo is one of the fastest-growing plants in the world. Flexible and lightweight, bamboo is a sustainable building material that is stronger than wood, bricks, or even concrete. That is why bamboo wall panels and the bamboo industry in general, have gained more popularity in recent years. Today, we are going to observe the making of crushed bamboo panels, also known by so many names such as esterilla, sinasa, and tinadtad though the training initiated by the Antonio O. Floirendo Foundation andTadeco Livelihood and Training Center in Barangay Catigan, Toril, Davao City. Bamboo wall panels are used in many ways in construction and furniture. Often, bamboo panels are used in the ceiling or walls or as an integrated wall support system. Bamboo has a very strong fiber and the compressive strength of bamboo is two times higher than concrete, while the tensile strength is close to steel. Bamboo fiber has shear stress that is higher than wood and when treated and maintained properly, bamboo panels have a longer life span than wood.
