Some of the greatest scriptures scholars who have worked in understanding the scriptures, interpreting the scriptures and really delving into them in extraordinary and powerful ways, some of them obviously are all of them that have been granted these incredible gifts by now. Their minds have been such great abilities synthesize what they read, to remember what they read, they had this incredible ability to kind of pull it all together. Some of those great scholars have spent much of their academic lives writing about just one vote of the sacred scriptures, one of the books in the Bible. One of those scholars is a great name, Father Raymond Brown. Raymond Brown was probably one of the best, not the best, scripture scholar in the last hundred years In the United States, he's probably one of the five top strictest always in our church of all time. Just an extraordinary intellect, an extraordinary researcher, and actually a very, very fine lecturer. I was lovely enough to do it twice while I was attending summer classes. He spoke seven languages in a row over a couple of days and both every time he got up, he walked up with absolutely no notes or text in front of him. And then for an hour and a half each time, He held forth, pointing the scriptures, pulling the ancient line bridges, pulling the councils of the church just to the extraordinary, interactive, on the Raymond Brown pad. Raymond Brown spent much of his act in his life researching and writing on the gospel of John. This is his commentary on the gospel of John. The whole thing is on the gospel of John. This was our textbook in the seminary we got on Father Bill Faye, teach us about the gospel of John. It is an extraordinary work and just it's painful to read because you just have to stop it for once in a while. I think this man had so much going for him and he had so much good work for our church. He helped us to understand the scriptures, so some of the great spiritual scholars stayed there in his higher academic careers or much of them writing about just one look at all of the scriptures. Another scripture scholar, not quite as well known, was one of the teachers that that we have in seminary for the Sherwin Gray. For the Sherwin Gray do not stand to be his academic life...
