Bartok: Concerto for Orchestra

Concerto for Orchestra is one of the most celebrated orchestral works by Béla Bartók, composed in 1943 during the composer’s exile in the United States. Commissioned by the Boston Symphony Orchestra and premiered under Serge Koussevitzky, the work quickly became one of Bartók’s most popular compositions. Concerto for Orchestra exists in two different endings. The version commonly performed today is the revised ending that Bartók prepared after the premiere.
