I Walked With Elephants at Mole National Park — Ghana's Untamed North

Most people who visit Ghana never make it north. They stop at the coast — Accra, Cape Coast, Elmina — and leave having seen the wound but not the whole body. Mole National Park changed something in me. Not because of the spectacle, but because of the quiet. Ghana's largest wildlife reserve sits in the Savannah Region — 4,840 sq km of open grassland, watering holes, and creatures that have been here since long before borders were drawn. Elephants move through it. Warthogs scatter. Kob antelopes pause and watch. And you walk. On foot. Close enough to feel the weight of what undisturbed Africa actually sounds like.
