Week One: How Many Birds?

We are entering the hottest part of the year here in Tennessee, and I'm having to make some adjustments to keep the videos going through the summer months. To avoid the problems I've had in the past with camera and battery packs overheating, I'm switching to an abbreviated filming schedule - and to make it fun, I'm going to pick just one day a week to film and keep a count of how many different birds we get on film during each of the shortened filming sessions. Around 3:30pm to 7:00pm seems to work well. It's late enough that the sun isn't so hot, and that time of day tends to be when the bird pond is the busiest. Twenty birds in one session is my goal. That would be all the regulars, plus a few surprise visits from birds we don't see as often. I won't tell you how many birds we got this week. You'll have to watch! But I will say that we got one bird that I've never filmed at the bird pond before, and there were some bathing lessons going on for a species that does not usually linger in the pool for long. Thanks for watching! Stay safe out there and I'll see you next week! All clips were recorded on my property in eastern Tennessee. ———— If you would like to have the weekly video link delivered to you via email, sign up for the free Warbler Ridge newsletter: https://tramant-llc.aweb.page/warbler... ———— You can support this channel by making a small donation through our “Buy Me a Coffee” page. https://buymeacoffee.com/warbler_ridge Donations help pay for camera equipment, bird pond maintenance and updates, and habitat improvement projects.
