After a 3200 KM journey, the watch finally reached me with a broken crystal, a heavily worn case, and a non-working movement that had remained silent for decades. But like every mechanical watch, it still carried a heart waiting to beat again. Originally sold for around $120 in 1976, this Seiko is now being restored after nearly half a century of history. In this video, I bring a completely original Seiko 6139-7070 chronograph back to life step by step: • The case was fully disassembled and deeply cleaned • Years of scratches and dullness were removed through surface polishing • The broken crystal was replaced with one matching the original specifications • The movement was fully serviced and cleaned • Drying, lubrication, and precision adjustments were completed to restore functionality • The chronograph function was tested and revived This watch was manufactured at the Suwa factory as a product of 1970s Japanese watchmaking engineering.
