1920' Railroad lamp - Restoration

Hello everyone! In this video I restore an ancient railway lamp, used to signal the position of the station to the train that is about to arrive. From my research, I found that the lamp should date back to around 1920, so it is around 100 years old! I bought this lamp in a vintage shop in my city. As soon as I started to disassemble it, I immediately noticed an irreparable damage unfortunately, probably the residual acetylene accumulated over the years has completely corroded the base of the burn tank, unfortunately making it unusable as it would be too dangerous to produce a flame with a tank that is not sealed. I will therefore use this beautiful lamp as a decoration object. The quality of the metal is excellent, even if the corrosion of the years has thinned it a lot. I decide to sandblast the entire lighting frame without disassembling it, so as not to risk damaging the components. However, one unexpected thing happens, the nickel plating comes off! I try to see how the final result could be if I removed it totally and I must say that I like it a lot! After some research I dedicate to using 33% hydrochloric acid to remove the plating. In the meantime, I disassembled all the components of the lamp and started cleaning them one by one. After polishing them they look like jewels! I decide to apply two coats of protective primer and two coats of dark gray color called "London smoke". I must say that the final result is way beyond my expectations, the color is gorgeous!
