Running Out of Firewood: Life on an Off Grid Remote Alaskan Homestead

Our firewood supply finally reached its end and its time to haul some more out of the forest for fuel. Our off grid homestead is remote, and inaccessible by truck this time of year, no calling in a firewood order in the bush- you get out and haul it yourself. To make the most of the day, we cooked some salmon and sourdough over the fire for lunch, and popped open a probiotic homemade ginger soda to top it off.
