I am Sarah Collins and I am a restorative and yin yoga teacher with Endometriosis. I use the practice of yin yoga to help me manage the symptoms of the condition. I use Yin yoga in addition to diet, exercise, alternative therapies and medical treatment and advice. Over two decades I have learnt how to cope and even thrive with endometriosis - thats what this channel is here to share. In this guided yin yoga practice we will target the body in 3 ways ✨Yin Yoga is famously calming - we will calm the nervous system to lower pain and inflammation as well as reduce stress and anxiety that goes hand in hand with endometriosis ✨Gentle stretch and release - we will release tension that builds in the muscles in the pelvic region as well as the hips thighs and lower back. ✨Balance the energetic body - we will stimulate meridian lines just as an acupuncturist does but without the needles! We will target liver, kidney and spleen meridians to move stagnant energy and nourish the whole system. Yin yoga works on many levels and I have found that practicing regularly has reduced pain, increased energy levels and restored the relationship between me and my body! Yin yoga is restorative in nature it calms the nervous system and allows your body to enter rest and repair mode (parasympathetic nervous system) meaning that your recovery will be much improved. The meditative aspect of yin yoga helps to deal with a busy mind, stress or anxiety which many of us with endometriosis experience as we try to cope with the ups and downs of the condition.
