Eleonora de Sabata, science journalist, creator and managing director of the European Clean Sea Life project, has spent the last ten years collecting and studying waste on the coasts, in the sea, and on the Mediterranean seabed, analyzing and documenting enormous quantities of plastic waste. Eleonora has never stopped investigating its origins to understand how to remedy it. There's no doubt: the problem isn't plastic, but rather how we use it, and especially how and where we decide to dispose of it. Plastic waste is the result of an unsustainable "throwaway" lifestyle; it stems from the accumulation of incorrect micro-behaviors that, when repeated daily by millions of individuals, have devastating effects on the environment. Eleonora's vision is that we need to work to raise awareness of the impact that certain incorrect individual micro-behaviors have on the ecosystem and to improve the dissemination of information on the actual sustainability of many products and consumer goods.
