Breech: Obstetrics Hindi Lecture Series ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Breech presentation occurs when the fetus's buttocks or feet are positioned to deliver first instead of the head, complicating the normal delivery process ๐คฐ. It is observed in about 3-4% of full-term pregnancies and is classified into three types: frank breech (buttocks present first, legs extended), complete breech (buttocks present first, legs flexed), and footling breech (one or both feet present first) ๐ฉบ. Causes of breech presentation include prematurity, uterine anomalies, polyhydramnios, oligohydramnios, and placenta previa. Diagnosis is confirmed through abdominal palpation, vaginal examination, and ultrasound ๐ฉป. Breech presentations increase the risk of complications such as cord prolapse, birth asphyxia, and trauma during delivery. Management options include external cephalic version (ECV) at 36-37 weeks to turn the baby head-down, planned vaginal breech delivery under strict criteria, or cesarean section for safe delivery. Timely identification and appropriate management are critical to minimize risks for both mother and baby. ๐โจ๐ผ #BreechPresentation #ObstetricsLectures #MaternalHealth #FetalPosition #SafeDelivery #PregnancyCare #MedicalEducation #MBBSNotes #StudySmart #VaginalDelivery #CesareanDelivery #HighRiskPregnancy #PrenatalCare
