Дядя Дима - главный акушер Дербента
One of the priority areas for improving the healthcare system has traditionally been the protection of motherhood and childhood. For several decades now, obstetrician-gynecologist, Honored Doctor of the Republic of Dagestan, doctor of the highest category Dmitry Yagudayev has been helping little residents of the city of Derbent and the regions of Southern Dagestan to be born. Probably every resident of Derbent knows this remarkable person, and everyone simply calls him Uncle Dima. It happened that he was called at night to the mountainous regions of Dagestan to deliver babies. They knew that he would never refuse and would help. Dmitry Yakovlevich was born in 1959 in Derbent. In 1976, after graduating from high school, he entered the Saratov Medical Institute. And he decided to become a doctor on the day when his mother died during childbirth. At a very young age, he was left without his closest and most beloved person and gave himself his word that he would become a doctor, deliver babies, save lives. Since then, he has not broken this promise. Dmitry Yakovlevich came to the Central City Hospital of Derbent for an internship in 1982. Since then, he has been working here. He had the opportunity to leave Derbent many times, but he is a patriot of his hometown. A high salary and better working conditions did not entice him, he did not exchange his city, his team, his calling for them. From the very beginning of his career, Dmitry Yagudayev proved himself to be a competent specialist who knows his business, and received recognition from the townspeople. His son Yakov Dmitrievich followed in his father's footsteps and now heads the pregnancy pathology department. "We, obstetricians and gynecologists, have a huge responsibility, since the lives of two people are at stake - the child and the mother. I would not have achieved success without the advice, help and support of my teachers both during my studies and practice at the Derbent hospital. I am very grateful to Ramazan Dzhamalutdinovich Ramazanov, Yusha Isaevich Shabanov, Lyudmila Nikolaevna Ivanova, and Nikolay Yakovlevich Zakharov. These people helped me develop as an obstetrician," said Dmitry Yagudayev. According to Dmitry Yakovlevich, with the advent of new modern equipment at the Central City Hospital, the level of medical care for pregnant women has improved. The doctor emphasized that this is the merit of the hospital's current management. In total, about 2,000 children are born in Derbent per year.
