Master Modeling in Solidworks
In this video, I take a surface-only hair dryer shape and create 4 solid parts from it (a left side, right side, strain relief and nozzle). All 4 of these solids are constrained to the surface-only shape. This makes that surface-only shape the master model, and all the other parts are required to conform to that model. The same technique works even if your master model is not a surface, but is instead a solid.
