Hashihaka Tomb is a keyhole-shaped tomb that forms part of the Makimuku Tomb Group in the southeastern Nara Basin. It is believed that Hashihaka Tomb, considered the first keyhole-shaped tomb, was constructed after the construction of keyhole-shaped tombs such as Makimuku Ishizuka, Katsuyama, Yazuka, and Hokenoyama. The Makimuku Tomb Group is also home to the Makimuku Ruins, which are considered the most likely location for the Yamataikoku Kinki theory, and are also considered the first city of the Yamato royal court. There is also a theory that the burial victim of Hashihaka Tomb may have been Himiko, making it a highly anticipated tomb.
