Dr Fortune Gomo murdered in front of her daughter in Dundee

Dr. Fortune Gomo, a 39-year-old Zimbabwean scientist and mother, was fatally stabbed on South Road, Dundee, Scotland, on July 5, 2025, around 4:25 p.m. Despite emergency efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene. A post-mortem confirmed her death as murder. Kyler Rattray, a 20-year-old from Dundee, was charged with her murder and appeared at Dundee Sheriff Court on July 7, making no plea and was remanded in custody. Dr. Gomo, a PhD graduate from the University of Dundee and a senior service planner at Scottish Water, was described as an exceptional scientist and valued community member. Her death shocked the local and academic communities, prompting tributes and calls for justice.
