BR Class 35 Locomotives in Preservation during the Pre Digital Age (BR35- 01P)

BRITISH RAILWAYS VINTAGE TRACTION BR Class 35 Locomotives in Preservation during the Pre-Digital Age (1988-1994) Volume BR35-01P Another feature in this newer series of Vintage Traction from the pre digital era, from the mid 1980's to the turn of the millenium, when the digital age started to put an end to analogue video... This feature is on the Preservation scene and features the Diesel Hydraulic BR Class 35 (D7000 Class) or more commonly referred to as the 'Hymek', built between 1961 and 1964, by Bristol Siddeley/Maybach and Beyer-Peacock for the Western Region. Fitted with one Bristol Sidderley Maybach Engine (MD870), and fitted with Stone Maybach Mekydro Hydraulic Transmission Which could deliver a total of 1,700 HP and a top speed of 90 MPH. These Locomotives worked all over the Western Network from Penzance, to Paddington, Birmingham and the South Wales area, including Worcester. They had a very short career on the mainline, as were being withdrawn as early as 1971, due to Diesel Hydraulic becoming outdated. Fortunately a few of the class were rescued from the 'cutters' torch and were purchased for preservation. This feature covers the period from around 1988 to 1994 and the scenes were captured on The West Somerset Railway and The East Lancashire, plus the Severn Valley and Mid Hants Railway during this period. I do hope you enjoy the feature and please comment and like, if you feel the video was of some enjoyment and nostalgia to watch.
