Kohonawala Village | Gala Muduna | Travel Weekend #badulla

We’ll be adding English subtitles very soon! This time, our journey was to Kohonawala... Kohonawala is a very remote village located in the Madolsima GN Division, under the Lunugala Divisional Secretariat of the Badulla District. Around 65 families live here. To reach Madolsima, one must walk approximately 5 km, or if using a vehicle, it's about 9 km from Kahatapitiya. But don’t expect an easy ride – the road is extremely rough. We took the route from Kahatapitiya. On the way from Badulla to Kahatapitiya, we got to see places like Kobowatta, Hotaruthanna, Ella Rock, and Kirigalpottha. From Kahatapitiya onwards, the road becomes really challenging. After driving downhill for several kilometers, we reached Urumithanna. From there, the road was in even worse condition. After descending about 3 more kilometers from Urumithanna, we arrived at the Loggaloya river. Due to recent rains, the water level was quite high. A bridge has been constructed to cross to the other side of the river. After crossing it, we drove uphill about 2 km – now heading toward the hills of Madolsima. After a strenuous drive uphill, we finally reached Kohonawala School. We donated water pipes to replace a 450-meter-long broken pipeline, along with a cable to suspend them from mountain to mountain. The villagers had also prepared some tea and refreshments, which we enjoyed before continuing our journey back. We turned near the sacred Bo tree at Ilukgolla, planning to visit Galamuduna Pansala (temple). Though it was a shorter route, the road was quite difficult. My vehicle had some trouble in Ilukgolla, and we had to put in some effort to get it back on track. Right after Ilukgolla, we faced two landslides – the heavy rains had washed away parts of the road, so we spent a lot of time helping each other get through. After that, we reached Gadadehigolla. From there, we faced the steepest ascent on our journey – climbing up to Galamuduna Pansala. By the time we got there, the whole area was blanketed in mist. From this point, we could see the rough road we had taken through Gadadehigolla. Around this area, you can also explore places like Madolsima, Pitamaruwa, Akiriya, and Madugastalawa. Afterward, we came back to Kahatapitiya, returned to Badulla, and wrapped up our journey. මේ සැරේ අපේ සංචාරය කොහොනාවල...කොහොනාවෙල කියන්නේ බදුල්ල දිසිත්‍රික්කයේ ලුනුගල ප්‍රාදේහිය ලේකම් කොට්ඨාශයේ මඩොල්සිම ග්‍රාම නිළදාරි වසමේ පිහිටලා තියෙන පවුල් 65 ක් විතර ජිවත්වන ඉතා දුෂ්කර ගමිමානයක්.. මඩොල්සිම ඉදන් ඒනවානම් කි.මී. 05 ක් වගේ පාගමනින් ඒන්න ඹින. වාහානයකින් ඒනවනම් කහටරුප්පේ ඉදන් කි.මී.09 ක් ඒන්න ඹ්න . ඒ ගමනත් යනවා කියන්නේ ලේසිම නෑ ඒ් තරම්ම පාර දුෂ්කරයි.. අපි කහටරුප්පේ පැත්තෙන් තමයි ගමන යන්න යොදා ගත්තේ. බදුල්ලේ ඉදන් කහටරුප්පට ඒනකොට කොබො වත්ත හරියෙදි හෝටර්තැන්න, ඇල්ල රොක් ඒක ,කිරිගල්පොත්ත වගේ තැන් ටිකක් දැක බලා ගන්න පුලුවන්. කහටරුප්පේ ඉදන්ම පාරනම් ඇත්තටම අවුල් . කි.මී. කිහිපයක් පහලට ආවට පස්සේ අපි ලගාවුනා ඌරුමීතැන්නට ඒතනින් පස්සේ ඉතින් පාර තිබුනටත් වඩා ගොඩක්ම සවුත්තු වෙලා...ඌරුමීතැන්නේ ඉදන් කි.මී. 03ක් විතර පහලට අවට පස්සේ අපිට ලොග්ගල් ඔය මුන ගැහුනා. මේ දවස්වල වැස්සත් ඒක්ක ඹයේ වතුරනම් ටිකක් වැඩියි . ඹයෙන් ඒහා පැත්තට යන්න පාලමක් හදලා තියෙනවා ඒ්කෙන් අපි අනිත් පැත්තට ගිහින් තවත් කි.මි. 02 ක් විතර ආයේත් කන්ද ඉහලට ගමන් කලා .දැන් අපි ඉහලට යන්නේ මඩොල්සිම පැත්තේ කන්දට. මහොම ගිහින් තමයි අපිට මුනගැහුනේ කොහොනාවල පාසල. අපි පාසලට වතුර හන්න වට ටිකක් දුන්නා මොකද පසුගිය වැස්සත් ඒක්ක නායගිහින් බටටිකත් විනාශ වෙලා ගිහින් . ගමේ අය හදලා තිබුන තේ පැන් සංග්‍රහයත් බුක්ති විදලා අපි ආයේත් පිටත් වුනා ආපහු ඒන්න . අපි ඉලුක්ගොල්ලට හැරෙන බෝධිය ලගින් දකුනට දැම්මේ ගලමුදුන පන්නසලට යන්න හිතාගෙන .මේක කෙටිපාරක් හැබැයි පාරනම් ටිකක් අමාරුයි කිව්වා.. ඉලුක්ගොල්ලෙදි මගේ වාහානයට පොඩ් කරදරයක් වුනා ඒතනින් වාහානේ ගොඩට ගන්න ටිකක් මහන්සි වෙන්න වුනා . ඉලුක්ගොල්ල පසුකරාම කදුරවල් දෙකක්ම මුන ගැහුනා වැස්සත් ඒක්ක පාරවල් කඩාගෙන ගිහින් ඒ් තැන් දෙකේදි අපි සෑහෙන වෙලාවක් ගතකරන්න වුනා වාහාාන ටික අනිත් පැත්තට ගන්න. ඉන්පස්සේ තමයි අපි ගඩාදෙහිගොල්ලට ලගාවුනේ . ඒතන ඉදන් ලොකුම ගැප් ඒකක් දිගේ තමයි ඉහලට යන්න සිද්ද වුනේ ගල මුදුනේ පන්සල දක්වා. ගලමුදුන පන්සලට ලගා වෙන විට මුලු පලාතම මීදුමෙන් වැහිලා ගිහින් . ඉතින් මෙතනට ආවට පස්සේ තමයි අපි දැක්කේ ගඩාදෙහිගොල්ල හරහා අපි ආපු දුෂ්කර මාර්ගය වැටිලා තිබුන හැටි. මෙතනට මඩොල්සිම . පිටමාරුව . ඇකිරිය . මඩුගස්තලාව වගේ තැන් දැක බලා ගන්න පුලුවන් . ඉන් පස්සේ අපි කහටරුප්පට ඇවිත් ඒතනින් බදුල්ලට ඇවිත් අපේ සංචාරය අවසන් කලා ඹන්න ...Kohonawala Village | Gala Muduna | Travel Weekend #badulla
