This area can be accessed by Kurobe Alpine Route by way of Kurobe dam. The Kurobe Alpine Route is a name of a series of transportations for accessing Murodo area from Nagano prefecture. To go to Murodo area, you have to successively ride four transportations, i.e., an electric bus, an underground cable car, a ropeway, and another electric bus from Ogisawa station in Omachi, Nagano prefecture. It takes one hour and half from Ogisawa station to Murodo Station. I said "stations", but they are stations of electric buses, not railways. There were trolley electric busses until 2024, but since 2025, trolley buses were abolished and they are replaced with lithium ion rechargeable buses. Probably, this area is the place where you can ski earliest, i.e., from November. Kurobe Alpine Route is closed from December to March due to heavy snow. You can enjoy backcountry skin in next spring (April and May). In November, the amount of snowfall does not seem to be sufficient, which limits the skiable area, as compared to spring. So, you may want to come here in April, in which you can ski in much greater backcountry ski areas. If you want to ski earliest, you may want to come here in November.
