Report by Serambi Indonesia Journalist Rianza Alfandi | Banda Aceh SERAMBINEWS.COM, BANDA ACEH – The Banda Aceh City Government (Pemko), through the Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) and the Public Order Agency (WH), demolished approximately 120 illegal kiosks built on drainage channels along Jalan Utama Rukoh, Syiah Kuala District, on Saturday (June 6, 2026). According to Serambinews.com's observations at the scene, the demolition of the illegal structures adjacent to the Syiah Kuala University (USK) campus fence was carried out manually and using an excavator. The Head of the Banda Aceh City Satpol PP and WH, Muhammad Rizal, stated that the buildings demolished were illegal structures built in prohibited locations, namely on drainage channels. According to him, the demolition was carried out to restore the function of the drainage channels and roads that had been used as business locations by vendors.
