Bambu H2D 40W Laser: Perfectly Centered Anodized Aluminum Challenge Coins

Getting artwork perfectly centered on a small challenge coin can be more difficult than the engraving itself. In this video, I walk through the exact process I personally use to dial in the Bambu Lab H2D 40W laser for engraving anodized aluminum challenge coins. I cover the coin blanks I use, artwork preparation, positioning, focus, test settings, centering, and the full engraving process from start to finish. This is not presented as the only correct method—it is simply the workflow that has been giving me consistent results in my shop. For the demonstration, I engrave one of the custom membership coins for Petrol & Espresso, our private automotive and motorcycle social club. Covered in this video: • The anodized aluminum coin blanks I use • Preparing and sizing the artwork • Setting up the H2D laser workspace • Finding the exact center of the coin • Dialing in power and speed • Preventing crooked or off-center engravings • Full engraving demonstration • Reviewing the finished challenge coin Every machine, coating, and coin blank may react differently, so use these settings as a starting point and run your own material tests.
