Guided Meditation: Always Effortlessly Aware
In this guided meditation Rupert points to the fact we cannot practise being aware – effortless awareness is what we essentially are already. Rupert says: ‘It is true that the fact of being effortlessly aware can be overlooked in favour of the content of experience. But even then you don’t cease being effortlessly aware. Being effortlessly aware is just temporarily obscured by the content of experience. ‘Meditation is simply to notice the natural, effortless awareness that you essentially are and to be that knowingly. In other words, it is simply to be, knowingly, what you always and already are. There is no agitation, sorrow, pain or conflict in what you naturally are. Being effortlessly aware is already at peace, already free of all sorrow. It is the quiet joy, the absence of conflict, and the love that we seek.’ *This video is from one of Rupert’s Online Retreats at Home, 13–15 December 2024.
