5.2 : Resistive Analog Mixer

Welcome to Week 5 Lecture 2 of the course "Electronic Systems Thinking", taught by Profs. Sankaran Aniruddhan, Boby George, and Janakiraman Viraraghavan. Full Course: https://study.iitm.ac.in/es/course_pa... Video Overview In this lecture, we explore the design and operation of resistive analog mixers. Starting with the theory of voltage addition using resistor networks, we learn how to design circuits for specific voltage scaling and signal summation. The lecture then demonstrates how this principle can be extended to generate sawtooth waveforms by implementing Fourier series with analog circuits. We also examine the limitations of analog mixers, the principle of superposition, and the role of subtractor circuits in practical applications. By the end, you will see how these ideas connect to audio mixers and signal processing in real-world systems. About IIT Madras' online Bachelor of Science programme IIT Madras offers four-year BS programmes that aim to provide quality education to all, irrespective of age, educational background, or location. The BS programme has multiple levels, which provide flexibility to students to exit at any of these levels. Depending on the courses completed and credits earned, the learner can receive a Foundation Certificate from IITM CODE (Centre for Outreach and Digital Education), Diploma(s) from IIT Madras, or BSc/BS Degrees from IIT Madras.
