Goldco Robotic Bulk Palletizer Depalletizer with Super Sorter - Empty Beverage Cans

BW Integrated Systems’ client in the beverage container manufacturing industry needed to decorate empty 2-piece aluminum beverage cans. They also wanted the ability to inspect the cans before they were decorated. Our solution for them consisted of our Goldco Dual-Robotic Bulk Palletizer / Depalletizer with Super Sorter. One Robot depalletizes layers of empty cans onto a mechanical conveyor while a second robot handles dunnage materials. The mechanical conveyor moves them to the customer's decorator. The customer can choose to inspect the cans at the Super Sorter or bypass it and allow them to go to the decorator. Then, the mechanical conveyor receives them again and brings them to the palletizing side, where they are palletized one layer at a time. The robot's end-of-arm tool performs layer pickup using a gentle vacuum head. Four-sided layer containment is provided by the layer squaring assembly, while a second robot performs sheet pick-and-place and top frame pick-and-place.
