It was so long a wait that I started growing a beard! But I have been spending these months learning a lot and stockpiling on ideas - Berklee has been so wonderful and it's resulted in collaborations like this one! Super Mario 64's credits theme has always been one of my favorites, and after it didn't get a rendition on "GET N!", I knew I had to do it properly some point down the line. The arrangement was actually finished around the end of September, but it took me until now to actually finish putting it together - a bit more by the books, but it was a lot of fun writing and learning the sax soli on this, both for alto and tenor! And of course, all my collaborators really made this tune what it is - from the Berklee-infused rhythm section to Beau's fantastic mix+master, and of course my fellow "GET N!" horn players contributing tasteful solos. This video was originally supposed to go up as a celebration of my channel hitting 1,000 subscribers, which happened shortly after I started at Berklee. I'm so happy that people enjoy what I do enough to consider sticking around, so it truly means the world.
