This Back Yard Changed the Way I Think About Gardening | Private Garden Tour

While taking care of my good friend and neighbor's garden while she was away, I found inspiration. I took notice to the way my friend grouped her plant containers and creatively arranged them, and I wondered why I hadn't been doing the same thing. Grouping containers gives you the ability to give plants different levels, and really showcase various textures. I think I'd been so focused on gardening in my flowerbeds and trying to fill up those spaces, that creating container vignettes kind of fell by the way side. I walked away from my friend's garden with no only this new inspiration, but also motivation to get creative. It's been so hot and humid here in North Carolina that digging in the ground to garden hasn't been much of an option. But this way - making container displays - this could be done without major transplanting or working under the brutal sun. My name is Nicole Roggeman, and My Carolina Garden is located in coastal NC in zone 8B.
