Torbay Lifeboats Shout 11/06/2020

Torbay ALB Shout 11/ILB Shout 19 of 2020 circa 08:46-09:25 UTC 11/06/2020 Extract from the RNLITorbay Facebook Page:- "After recieving a Mayday call from a small yacht in the vacinity of Churston Point Brixham earlier today, Solent Coastguards requested the immediate launch of Torbay Lifeboat. After discusions with the coastguard the Cowswain decided to launch both Torbay All Weather Boat (ALB) and Torbay Inshore Lifeboat (ILB) to assist. The Volunteer crews launched into a strong South East breeze approaching 30kts and 2 meter swells. Once the casualty was located a crew member from the ILB transfered on board to assist in rigging a tow. The volunteer crew of our larger Severn Class lifeboat then passed the crewman a heaving line, followed by the tow rope. Once the tow was established the ALB brought the casualty safely back into Brixham Harbour. The ILB then assisted in putting the yacht alongside the events pontoon at Brixham Marina." Extract from the Torbay RNLI Website:-"Both Lifeboats launched to the assistance of an 8 metre vessel having difficulty in the weather conditions. Vessel assisted into Brixham Harbour."
