Title: Construction of Paired Comparison Matrices from Expert Surveys Auto-description: This video explains how to construct paired comparison matrices to evaluate a player "x" based on expert surveys. These matrices are used to weight different characteristics classified as sporting, personal, and contractual, as well as their respective subcategories. The experts' responses determine the relative importance of each characteristic, which is then translated into a matrix. The experts compare the characteristics with each other, assigning a value that reflects their relative importance. For example, sporting characteristics may have a much greater weight than personal characteristics, which is represented by a 5/1 in the matrix. After completing the matrix with the ratings for all comparisons, the consistency of the matrix is checked and the eigenvector is calculated using specialized software. The consistency of the matrix and the resulting eigenvector reveal the weighting of the sporting, personal, and contractual characteristics. This process is repeated for the subcategories within each main characteristic. For example, when evaluating sports variables, goals might be judged as more important than other elements such as shots. Again, this information is captured in the matrix, and its consistency and corresponding eigenvector are calculated. Finally, the video illustrates how to perform this hierarchical analysis step by step to obtain a structured evaluation of different aspects of a soccer player using the paired comparison technique and expert opinion.
