This video is primarily intended for beginners. I'll be discussing the new Quansheng UV-K1 and K5V3 radios, which feature a new processor and increased memory. This has led to many nuances in their firmware, calibration, and customization. I decided to record several videos describing these nuances. In this video from the Quansheng UV-K1 and K5V3 series, Part 1 shows the process of correctly installing the Karina firmware on the radio. Part 2 will cover the process of downgrading from the Karina and other firmware to the factory firmware. I'll also show how to perform a Rolling Back operation to clear any remaining firmware errors. Without these errors, the radio will behave erratically, asking for a password, displaying gibberish, etc. If you have a Quansheng UV-K5 version V1, the process of upgrading from stock to Karina and back is different.
