On the afternoon of the 14th, President Lee Jae-myung met with Princess Anne and her husband, younger sister of King Charles III of the United Kingdom, at the Blue House to discuss ways to promote exchange and cooperation between the two countries. This visit marks her first in eight years since she visited Korea in her capacity as a member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) during the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics. During the meeting, President Lee expressed his welcome, saying, "The Korean people have been waiting for Princess Anne. Thank you for coming." President Lee also showed a sense of familiarity by recalling the history of the late Queen Elizabeth II's visit to Hahoe Village in Andong in 1999.
