Rav Amos z"l assassiné — Hommage et Halakhot Tefillin

Rabbi Amos, of blessed memory, considered by the elders of Israel to be one of the 36 righteous saints (Lamed-Vav Tzaddikim) upon whom the world rests, was murdered by a student on the eve of the 17th of Tammuz. Following the passing of Rabbi Ron Chaya, of blessed memory, this loss deeply affects the entire nation of Israel. Rabbi Amos lived a life completely detached from the material world: he walked barefoot, always wore a tallit and tefillin, and never ceased studying Torah. In this video, two halakhot are taught regarding the elevation of one's soul (Iluyi Neshamah): 📖 Halakha 1 — Rabbeinu Tam Tefillin or Tallit: When Only One Can Be Purchased According to the Yalkut Yosef, it is preferable to purchase Rabbeinu Tam Tefillin (even secondhand) rather than a Tallit, as the Tallit can be borrowed. 📖 Halakha 2 — Tefillin or Tallit Just Before Nightfall: Which Takes Priority If one only has time to put on one before nightfall, the Tefillin should be put on first so that the blessing can still be recited. Sources: Yalkut Yosef, Hilkhot Tefillin. May the merit of Rabbi Amos, of blessed memory, protect all of Israel, and may God grant us a complete redemption.
