Update del trial BREAKWATER, tra conferme e cambi di paradigma

[Oncoinfo – Oncology Snapshots: follow us on http://oncoinfo.it] In patients with metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC) with a BRAFV600E mutation, the first-line treatment with the triplet encorafenib + cetuximab + FOLFIRI is associated with a significant improvement in progression-free survival (PFS) and a prolongation of overall survival (OS) compared to the standard of care: this is confirmed by the updated results of the randomized cohort 3 of the BREAKWATER study presented at the ASCO 2026 congress. Filippo Pietrantonio (Head of the Gastrointestinal Oncology Unit – Fondazione IRCCS Istituto Nazionale Tumori, Milan), whom we met in Chicago, explains the clinical importance of these updates for us.
