SARC041, abemaciclib for recurrent dedifferentiated liposarcoma
[Oncoinfo – Istantanee di Oncologia: seguici su http://oncoinfo.it] Abemaciclib, a targeted CDK4/6 inhibitor, is a promising new therapy for advanced dedifferentiated liposarcoma (DDLPS), for which there are few effective treatment options. Results of the phase 3 SARC041 trial - presented at ASCO 2026 congress - show that abemaciclib kept tumors from growing for longer than a placebo in people with DDLPS that recurred after surgery. Abemaciclib was also able to shrink tumors in some participants, a rarity for DDLPS treatments. We discussed the clinical significance of these data in Chicago with Mark A. Dickson, Sarcoma Medical Oncologist at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York.
