Ich bin angekommen – 1130 km durchs Race Across Germany | Deutscher Meister 60+

I've arrived! After 1,130 kilometers, around 7,500 meters of elevation gain, and 53 hours on the bike, I completed the Race Across Germany from Flensburg to Garmisch-Partenkirchen – and became the German Champion in the 60+ Supported category. In this video, I give my first personal statement after crossing the finish line. Not a full race report yet, but an honest reflection immediately after this incredible non-stop challenge across Germany. For me, the Race Across Germany 2025 wasn't just about kilometers, elevation gain, and results. It was about ultracycling, long-distance cycling, endurance training, mental strength, recovery, teamwork, pacing, sleep management, and the question of what's still possible in cycling at 62. My original plan was to complete the course in 40 to 45 hours. In the end, it took 53 hours. Why? Because in an ultra-cycling race, Plan A isn't everything. You also need Plan B and Plan C when the route, fatigue, weather, equipment, or your own body demand new decisions.
