In late July, a tiny mayfly appears in large quantities. The Trico hatch on the Missouri is unlike any other hatch in the world. Thousands of bugs form clouds along the banks early in the morning. The sun is rising, and spinners begin to fall. They blanket the river and you can’t tell which fly is yours because there are simply too many bugs.
