Not Scary, Just Worse | Child of Hell | Horror Mayhem

I didn’t really read 'Child of Hell' by William Dobson as disturbing horror. For me, it worked more like escalation comedy in horror form, where the appeal is seeing how far it can push itself. But does that absurd escalation make it more effective, or does it take the horror out of it?
