Camdaki Kız Nalan'ın Yalısı
Hello everyone, The series "Girl in the Window" began airing on Thursday. The script was beautiful, and the locations chosen for filming were quite impressive. The first location that caught my attention was the mansion where Nala lives. This mansion, shown at length in the series' opening scenes, is quite old. Located in Kanlıca, Beykoz, this mansion also overlooks the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge. Because of the mansion's ancient history, the information is somewhat complex. I've tried to organize it a bit for you. This mansion, which can almost be considered the smallest among the mansions in Kanlıca, is called the Esra Umur Mansion. Next to it is the Esvapçı (clothes maker) Ahmet Bey Mansion. On the other side is the Necati Bey Mansion. It's said that Necmettin Erbakan owned the mansion in the 2000s. It is currently used by Acar Factoring. Esvapçı Ahmet Bey Mansion; It was built by Selami Efendi in 1850 in the Kanlıca Bay of Beykoz on the Anatolian side of the Bosphorus. The wooden mansion, located two yards in this area and within, was purchased by Sheriff Abdülmuttalip Efendi. Two of the mansions were later purchased by Asaf Pasha, the governor of Üsküdar. In one year, Asaf Pasha stayed with his family, while the other house was occupied by his foremen and employees. This building is the southern mansion where these foremen lived. The Esra Umur mansion was one of Asaf Pasha's two mansions. After the Pasha's death, it was sold to Yedi Sekiz Hasan Pasha, whose mansion was located next door. The mansion's servants stayed there. The mansion accidentally burned down. This mansion, built on the site of the burned mansion, was built for Mestan Hanım, one of the foremen trained by Asaf Pasha's wife. After Asaf Pasha's death, this mansion was inherited by his foremen. When he died, the mansion was sold to Ahmet Bey, a garment maker and one of the Sultanhamam merchants. For a time, it was also known as the Tatlıcı Süleyman Mansion. The mansion is listed as the Elbiseci Ahmet Bey Mansion in the Istanbul Cultural Heritage and Cultural Economy Inventory. Ünal Kurtçu's book "Boğaziçi Adyakiliği" (Bosphorus Addict) describes the Elbiseci Ahmet Bey Mansion and its neighboring mansions as follows: When Sultan Mehmet Reşat went on Bosphorus excursions, people would climb the high walls to see the sultan. To prevent this, the sultan ordered the walls to be demolished in the 1900s, thus obliterating the last traces of the famous mansion. Alongside this mansion stood the mansions of Hacı Ahmet Bey, Esra Umur, Necati Bey, and Ahmet Arifi. Records indicate that these mansions were commissioned by Mehmet Bey, the Undersecretary of the Court. The Elbiseci Ahmet Bey Mansion was known as the Asaf Pasha Mansion. The mansion's architectural feature is its two wooden stories over a stone ground floor. These floors have large balconies on the southwest side. The shutters of the upper-floor hall, which open outward, feature a triangular pediment. The ground floor, originally a stone building, was later expanded to mimic the building's façade. The Esra Umur Mansion is believed to have been built in the 20th century. Actually, the two structures I've highlighted in the photo are quite confusing. Based on most sources, I can say this is the Esra Umur Mansion. The restoration was carried out in 1990 using reinforced concrete framing. The facades are clad in wood. The mansion has a detached garden, a ground floor, and two standard floors. This substantially renovated structure is primarily made of reinforced concrete. It features a tile roof and a Marseille tile roof. It's believed that Ahmet Bey later acquired this mansion. I couldn't access the interior footage because it was remodeled. I've included excerpts from the series. Because the mansions are adjacent and related, I wanted to talk about all three. Thank you for listening. Don't forget to like my video and subscribe to my channel. Goodbye.
